How to protect your work as a developer: licences, contracts and the legal essentials for IT projects
You develop websites, apps or software – but are you sure your client won't take the code without paying, that a collaborator won't walk off with your know-how, and that your work won't end up in the grey zone of disguised employment?
In this practical training we will explain the legal essentials that every developer and web professional needs to know. Clearly, using real-world examples and without legal jargon.
You will take away specific templates and checklists that will help you protect your code, your client relationships and your business.
Copyright for photographers – practical, tailored and delivered right at your premises
Photographs are not just pictures. They are your copyrighted works, your brand and your source of income. Yet it is precisely with photographs that the most misunderstandings arise – with clients, agencies and employees.
At our training we will explain copyright to you clearly and practically, directly using your own jobs and contracts. A model licence agreement is included in the price.
You will be trained by Pavla Nečasová, a lawyer and photographer and founder of the blog fotopravo.cz. So practical insight is guaranteed.
Frequently asked questions
Who are the courses at the Preegal Academy intended for?
The courses are intended primarily for corporate teams that use artificial intelligence in their work or deal with intellectual property and brand protection — typically SEO specialists, managers, HR professionals, administrative staff, event specialists, graphic designers and marketers. We also offer specialised training for developers (licensing and the legal essentials for IT projects) and for photographers (copyright in practice). The training takes place in small groups of up to 11 people, in Brno, in Prague, or directly at your company's premises.
What's included in the course price, and will I get a certificate of completion?
The course price includes practical workflows, proven templates and, for selected courses, specific contract templates and checklists – for example a licence agreement template for the photographers' course, or a template policy for implementing AI. Every participant receives a certificate of completion. All prices on the page are stated excluding VAT; we are VAT payers and the final price is inclusive of VAT, with no further hidden fees.
How does payment for a course work?
You pay the price cashlessly, either via the payment gateway or by bank transfer based on an invoice with a 14-day due date. The price is due before the service is provided or the digital product is made available. For online products paid via the gateway, you gain access immediately after the payment is credited; for bank transfers, usually within 3 business days. If a specific availability date is stated on the web page (e.g. the date of a webinar), access is granted at that time.
What happens if a course cannot take place – for example, due to the instructor's illness?
If a course cannot go ahead due to the instructor's illness, poor weather conditions or force majeure, we will arrange an alternative date with you. We will always inform you of any such situation. Our aim is to ensure that you do not lose the training you purchased and that you complete it on a date that suits you.
Who runs the training and do the trainers have practical experience from the field?
The training is run by attorneys and experts with real practical experience. The copyright course for photographers is led by Pavla Nečasová, a lawyer and photographer and founder of the blog fotopravo.cz, so you will gain practical insight straight from real-world practice. Both the AI and Law courses and the training for developers build on our team's experience in IT law, intellectual property law and artificial intelligence law. We deliver our practical courses in cooperation with external practitioners.
